Punchy Sick Day

She caught that cold, I guess, that’s making its rounds everywhere from Montclair to Stamford, CT. I didn’t do my writing and editing today. Instead,, I gave myself over to so many paper loops that make a chain of comfort on a child’s sick day—loops shaped from fetching drinks, tissues, cough medicine, fruit and baked sweet potatoes, and from spending time on the couch watching The Toy Box. Good night.
