Greetings from Cape Cod--Not Yet, but Soon
I can't wait. I live for Cape Cod, and I haven't been there since the fall. Figgy has off from school this coming week, and we're planning to drive there for a few days with some girlfriends [my friend Anne and her two daughters, and our little puffball, Sug]. H. might come, but may have to stay behind to work and handle the house. We're not sure yet.
We go to North Eastham, below Wellfeet. The Cape feels like the edge of the earth.....so far......so new every time.....yet still the same. So much remains unchanged. Ironic, because the shoreline keeps eroding, and Nauset Light and other lighthouses have been moved several times so they don't topple into the sea when they lose firm grounding.
"A man may stand there and put all America behind him."
--Henry David Thoreau
I am looking forward. A change of scenery should make it a little easier to work through and walk through some serious issues ahead. We have to have firm grounding, unshakable foundations, so that we don't waver, fall, drown when the storms blow in.
