Had insomnia the other night and started googling, searching for colleagues I used to work with. Had just written about my editor, EJP, in "Dream Catcher" blog post this week. Finally found her on the web, but not in a good way. She died in 2004.
She didn't seem old enough to die. I immediately regretted [again] that we lost touch. Her death made me feel my own mortality, too. Did the math. When I first met Jean, in 1983, she was 51. The "E" was for Elizabeth, as in Elizabeth Jean Pascoe. Graham is her married name.
May EJP be editing the weather and polishing the moon beams, and teaching the angels to communicate more clearly, with her china marker and loupe in hand. Her rules live on. Here's all I could find, from the New York Times:
