Happy occasion...Moey and Ted had a double graduation party for Kevin, who graduated high school, and L., who heads to high school next year.
It was wonderful to see so many family members and friends together to celebrate a joyous milestone. To eat, to drink, to laugh and be proud. To see Moey's aunts, uncles and cousins, whom I have known since we were girls. And, to have a slice of the buttercream-rose-covered sheetcake, the kind Moey and I have had at so many shared occasions--Debbie's Sweet 16, our bridal showers, our baby showers. [My mother also had one from Stanley's Bake Shop in Bergenfield for my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary party. The icing was yellow and white; seeing the leftovers in our fridge delighted me no end.]
Back at our baby showers, our cakes said Pink or Blue, We Welcome You--I had never heard of that, but Moey's mother had.
Today, we celebrated Moey's Pink and Blue ending one chapter and moving onto the next. And my Pink was there to help celebrate, too.
Pink and Blue, hats off to you.

It is that time of year. Can you believe that Judi's youngest (Veronica) graduated high school last week? She is the baby of the family.

Hi Linda....I can't believe Veronica graduated from high school! amazing! Did you have the requisite sheet cake with buttercream frosting and roses, or do you and Judi have another traditional family-party dessert? Love to all. love alice
ReplyDeleteThe party will be in a couple of weeks. I am sure there will be the above mentioned cake!
