The Other Side of Midnight

Hell if I know what this image means, but I like it. It's from Harvard Space Weather.
Update on Beauty & Pain from last night. The fellow at the desk said just now as I passed that his son is fine. I am glad. That runt slept by his friend's house. Good news. [And runt is a word I like to use sometimes for Figgy, too, and Punch, and Sug.]

Lucky thing I don't puff, or I would have been chain-smoking all day and night.  I have about four deadlines converging [at different stages--interviewing, writing, sourcing, proofing]. Plus add a meeting I had today with a new client, which is of course good. But four different deadlines at once is too much. I am not sure how this happened. Oh, and add in crazy crunch deadlines to choose everything for the kitchen: granite, flooring, cabinet stain, paint color, sink, faucets. So that took a trip to the flooring place and the hardware store.

I never used to drink hot coffee but now because there are free carafes of Starbucks down in the lounge from 6 A.M. to 10 P.M., I took a cup tonight. I needed it to stay awake. Dinner was the cup of coffee yogurt I brought down to the business center, a one-ounce bag of Cheetos from the vending machine and many cups of ice water with lemon. The empty cups, container and bag piled up around me. I felt like a serial snacker.

Real dinner was just now, at 2 A.M.....a few wheat crackers with butter, more with hummus, some cold roast chicken, and then a couple graham crackers. Oops, a few Oreos, too.

I can't wait to get back to a normal schedule and family dinners. Maybe give me some cigarettes. Now.

Good night, sleep tight.
