Here's what I did for brief magic-carpet rides to other worlds today.

• Had a goblet of Traderspoint Creamery Banana Mango Yogurt for breakfast--bought it for Figgy, but she didn't like it. Guess what, I adore this drinkable treat. Got it at Whole Foods; www.traderspointcreamery.com.
• Wore nice black tights and good shoes, a ruffly, feminine sweater and favorite necklace--a little bit of Paris in my life.
• Splurged on February issue of Martha Stewart Living and read the chocolate dessert story right away. I love the issue, from the candy-pink cover--with hot fudge dripping over a bowl of vanilla ice cream--to the Chocolate, Hot & Cold ideas inside. Yum.
• I know this is the polar opposite of the one above, but also read the new Moosewood Restaurant Cooking for Health, which my niece Leah gave me. Plotting great healthy dinners, I hope starting tomorrow.
• Had a big green salad with Granny Smith apples, walnuts and grilled chicken in a place where I could easily have been swayed by burgers and fries. Ditto for iced coffee vs. richer drink.
• Read the New York Times for maybe 15 minutes with H. Realized I really miss reading that paper, holding it in my hands. I always liked the page with the weather map, the forecast.

Gee, I guess that's it. Thought there would be more. But what I did not do is exercise or meet my work deadlines, and I look forward to chipping away at both of those again tomorrow.

What I did do is my very best to be there, be present, from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M., not counting travel time.
