I know that's a well-worn phrase; guess there's a good reason why. Those words are as washed and faded as an old pair of jeans. But still, you love your oldest jeans. Nothing surprising about them. They're just faithful and true. They fit.
Patsy gave me a book yesterday--The Book of Awakening: Having the Life You Want by Being Present to the Life You Have, by Mark Nepo. She had an extra copy, and it's one of "Patsy's Picks" on the boot camp newsletter she'll be sending out. Nepo presents 365 lovely daily reflections, each followed by a short meditation. I like it a lot. Here's the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Book-Awakening-Having-Being-Present/dp/1573241172/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294333809&sr=8-1. It was one of Oprah's Ultimate Favorite Things 2010.
So I will go forth and look forward. Clean that tub, wash this hair, write that copy. I will stand up straight. I will be there.
One thought at a time.
One alarm clock at a time.
One shower at a time.
One breakfast at a time.
One phone call at a time.
One visit to Dad at a time.
One breath at a time.
One walk at a time.
One chore at a time.
One challenge at a time.
One success at a time.
One prayer at a time.
