Tory Burch Cashmere Steal

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Tory Burch [pictured] has
a wonderful fashion eye.
Fashion touchdown. Paid $47.50 for the Tory Burch Radburg cashmere cardigan [originally $295] in Metal Melange--a fancy word for gray--at the Short Hills Mall Tory boutique this evening. Figgy, my personal fashion consultant, was there to give me the nod. [She first urged me to get the hip orange knit gloves with gold buttons, priced @ $95, but I figured the sweater was more practical.]

Here's what happened. Tory Burch sent me a $50 holiday gift card in December just for being a fan/shopper. That card expired Dec. 31, and I used it to order a pair of Tory sunglasses on sale online at the last minute. But the sunglasses were out of stock, so the company was kind enough to send me another $50 card with no expiration date, so I wouldn't lose my chance to use it.

Then, on January 1, I got an email from toryburch.com with the subject line Happy Birthday--Our Gift to You! It was a $50 virtual gift card to be used @ toryburch.com or in a Tory Burch Boutique or outlet store. [Expiration: 11:59 PM ET on 01/31/11--Monday.] So the sweater, with gold Tory buttons, was marked down twice, from $295 to $206.50 to $147.50. I handed over my two $50 gifts from Tory, and only had to pay the remaining $47.50.

Oh, I love the Short Hills Mall, but rarely get there. Went with H. once to get a maternity outfit when I was expecting Figgy. Today we also popped into Henri Bendel; La Maison du Chocolat [a cup of hot chocolate was $8, hope to try it some time]; and Wolford. Check www.shopshorthills.com.

If you ever work at a mall, I said to Figgy, please let it be this one. I am the first to admit that material things do matter sometimes. Even if they do not matter the most. Good night.

  1. Wow. What a score! I would blog about it, too, if I ever got so lucky. I am still trying to get out of this house to spend my Christmas money, but the weather and (everyone else's) doctor's appointments have been keeping me busy. Love, Linda
