- Healthy Sunday breakfast made by Sis. Omelette with eggs and egg whites, mushrooms, asparagus, diced ham, a little cheese; slice lightly buttered rye toast; one of Sis's small signature zucchini muffins, this time with grated apple in the batter, too; decaf chai tea with light cream.
- Reading InStyle Magazine in bed. Tina Fey on cover. Good article. Funny lady. Nice escapism.
- Walking Sug by the water. Not at Greenwich Point--no dogs allowed now--but down by the water near the condos here in Cos Cob. Marshy and pretty. I love nature. It holds my heart.
- Saint Patrick's Day Parade on Greenwich Avenue. We met some of Sis and Don's friends. Lots of cute kids, cute dogs, beautiful weather. Green hats, green hair, leprechaun sideburns, Irish glitter, Irish sweaters. Cups of green beer, bloody Marys, coffee [Sis and I had cappuccinos]. Tailgate picnics. Shriners zipping around in little convertible clown cars--they looked so cute crisscrossing the parade route.
- Tory, Lilly, Kate--and Vineyard Vines. We parked right off Greenwich Avenue, so had the chance to pop into Tory Burch, Lilly Pulitzer, Kate Spade and VV stores to browse. Awesome as always. Classic, feminine, pure-white Lilly lace dresses [if only I were many shades tanner, many watts blonder, 80 pounds lighter, 25 years younger and $368 richer], new strappy yellow Tory sandals, sparkly Kate pumps with bows. A blue leather belt at Tory. Great purses at Lilly. And BTW, the mayor's pretty wife was wearing Tory orange Reva flats in the parade. Only fitting on Greenwich Avenue.
- Mass at St. Catherine of Siena. They have a 5 P.M. Sunday Mass at this Riverside church, which I liked. Nice late option. Homily addressed Mass being food for the soul. Agree. Amazed that in all the time Sis has lived in Connecticut--more than 15 years--today is the first time I went to Mass here.
- Flower shopping. Hyacinth buying--at the humble A&P--for three special young ladies. May they see their own beauty and strength in those heady, fragrant blooms.
I hope the day treated you well. Good night.

Hi Al, Glad you had a good week-end. Sounds like great fun to me! I wanted to tell you to say hi to Sis and Don but it may be too late (if you left already). I had major problems with my computer this weekend. Anyway, have a good day. Love, Lin
ReplyDeleteHi Lin. It's not too late...am leaving in a couple of hours. Sis said hi, and that it wanice to see you and Judi. She wants us to come visit Aunt Edith soon, and says we can go out to lunch at a restaurant there so no one has to cook. love alice
