Make Me a Magic Mirror

Must go upstairs and wash face, brush teeth. Must unhook from this addicting machine, this dimly lit screen that connects me to the world, and get in some TLC and rest. Just happened upon a really scary photo of me holding Punch--gosh, I look awful. It was taken over the last year, I think. I look unbelievably bad...double chin, big arms, terrible hair, old, not a scrap of makeup. Punch looks pretty, pretty--as she surely is.

Trust me, if you saw this photo of me, you would think Who is that strange looking-woman who almost looks like a sloppy man? God, she looks bad. Or maybe just that I was someone who has not taken care of herself. And it pains me to say it, but you would be right.

Maybe some beauty sleep will help. And a continued commitment to better TLC.

Good night.

  1. Or... you can email the picture to me and I will PhotoShop you into Angelina Jolie. Seriously, maybe throw the picture out if it does not represent your true likeness. Anyone can have a bad day and you always look good whenever I see you. Hope all is well. Love, Linda

  2. Hi Alice I agree with Linda throw the darn photo out.We are always our own worst critics. As one who is rarely camera friendly some of my photos are never seen by anyone.I am the film police of my pictures.

  3. Dear Lin and Aunt Ann, thank you so much. Your notes really helped me. I have always found it really hard to see a hideous photo of myself. As though that is the real thing and balancing in a happy or pretty image is not.....i like Aunt Ann's idea of being the film police. Thanks for helping me through this rough patch. If i were really a brave and truthful blogger, i would post that photo here. Yeah, maybe for a cool million. love alice xoxooxox

  4. No. Don't ever post it! Run as fast as you can to the nearest paper shredder.
