Gorgeous lilacs from an amazing photographer and writer [Kathy] @ this blog: http://whatdoiknow.typepad.com/photos/flowers/lilacs.html. |
I parked right next to one of the bushes, so I could easily find my car when I left.
Lilacs are that way. They seem timeless and sturdy, like they've stood by and watched a lot. You, Mother Nature, can pile snow on them, glaze them in hard ice or drop a tree on them, and they will still come forth in the spring for a brief but heady art showing--or a fashion show of the finest kind.
The lilacs I saw today surely have stood by and watched a lot. They're in a place that is historic in its own right.
I buried my nose in some blooms before I unlocked the door and started the engine to leave.
May their beauty, their perfume float through an open window to a very special place, a very special heart. May that heart and mind be open to receiving.
TCOY
- Went for a long walk [1 hour or more?] on a beautiful day with H., his brother Pat and Sug. Also TCO Sug--brought little bowl and water for her, knew she would start panting.
- Ice water.
- Yum, Julie's homemade matzo ball soup.
- Nap.
