It was a pivotal day. A scary, frightful, terrible, horrible, sad, deeply sad day. Again, I am not at liberty to go into details. Suffice it to say that we are standing by Figgy through some very tough times, and it is hard as hell for her--and for us.
Thank you to these people @ the hospital and in the supportive web around it. I must say, not everyone you cross paths with is kind or helpful; in fact, some are decidedly unhelpful, which I find surprising in the medical/nursing/caretaking/ER field.
But I know too that every panicked mother and father cannot be a pleasure to deal with, myself and H. included.
Still, I am grateful to these people who were lion-hearted, or at least showed some compassion in person or over the phone lines:

Still, I am grateful to these people who were lion-hearted, or at least showed some compassion in person or over the phone lines:
- Nurse Linne [sp?]
- Anne Marie
- Dr. Hung
- Natalia
- Alan
- Desiree
- Janet
- Dr. Frankel
- Sonia
- The guard at the front desk [showed me shortcut back]
- The blonde doctor on the cafeteria line [told me where the trays were]
- Crystal
- The woman in Princeton
And to my angel cell-phone support web: Moey, Sis and Anne.
Good night.
TCOY
Pretty doggone dismal job of it today, but I did the little I could.
Pretty doggone dismal job of it today, but I did the little I could.
- Walked Sug around block once.
- Gardened, hauled hedge and shrub trimmings before day went to hell.
- Took my next-door neighbor Julie up on her offer to make me an espresso! I sat and sipped it with her and her adorable three-year-old son, Rowan. Java, Julie, Rowan--triple treat. Nice rest stop.
- Lavender bath.
- Chinatown Body Silk.
- Thought ahead, took new insulated lunch bag to ER, with yogurts, banana, sandwich on whole wheat.
- Refreshing ice water nightcap.
- Tracked my spending.
Love, hugs, prayers to all of you.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you all today (and prayers, too). Love, Linda
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celia and Lin. I think it will be a pivotal day in a good way, too. At least I hope so. love, alice
ReplyDeleteAl. Check your cellphone texts when you get a chance. Lin
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived closer to make you a bowl of warm, nourishing Irish steel-cut oatmeal with a little brown sugar, banana and almonds and walnuts. And just a splash of milk. Then I'd eat my own bowl side by side in companionable silence with you. Many prayers and good wishes coming your way. xoxo
ReplyDeleteLin, i will text you, thanks.
ReplyDeleteKim, that is so very, very sweet. love alice
