Our book group met tonight...eight of us @ Elly's house. We had wine and Barbara's caponata and Jeanne's chicken wings and Julie's shrimp and Elly's apps served in wineglasses....it was a bar-food theme, which my friends said fit with the book: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I bought the novel, but life intervened, and so did my urge to read other books, as keeps happening lately. I haven't read a word of it. But from the sound of the discussion tonight, it's a gripping read. I think I will crack the spine.
It's just, I get so scattered sometimes--or about some things.
Karen brought homemade devil's food cake for dessert. Yum! We laughed hard over our own stories, which is sometimes more on point than a discussion of the book itself.
