Feeding the Soul

Food will be by Egans, a Montclair favorite!
Two foodie notes:
  • The Toni's Kitchen annual fundraiser is next Saturday night, March 9. Now that I've been volunteering @ Toni's every other Saturday since January--teaching memoir writing with my friend/fellow writer Elly--I appreciate even more what the soup kitchen does, and I'm proud to have it in our town. The men and women who come to our classes after Saturday lunch are funny, witty, wise, talented, caring--and write well about their lives. Things may be uncertain for them, but they certainly have a way with words. [On alternate Saturdays, art classes are offered.]
  • Pls. check the "Dinner Guest" article I wrote about Chef Danielle Saunders for the current [winter 2013] issue of Asp1re Magazine. Danielle cooked for P. Diddy and has a fresh approach to soul food. I really enjoyed talking to her and when I went to a kitchen event [she made grits with lobster], her mom, dad and aunt were there, and you could just tell this was one close-knit, caring family. They are all about big, mandatory Sunday family dinners.
Good night to you.

TCOY
  1. Went to yoga class. I found it hard, b/c haven't been doing it much lately. But really want to get back into it. Good for intention and grace.
  2. Private Benjamin with H. Wading through tough stuff. But better to wade than not to wade.
  3. Walked Sug.
  4. Tried to stay calm about something worrisome.
  5. Healthy dinner at home with my Figgy.
