| I wish for white. |
- Milly store!!!! Check the tiny Milly garments for petite princessas. So cute. And I like the Milly pairing with Sperry Top-Sider...fun designs. But again, they stop at size 10 and I need 11. Bummer...for the day I can afford a pair.
- Ladurée. The macaron as art.....and now they have sweet and savory cookbooks, too, with soft, sumptuous suede covers you just want to sink into. It almost seems like a fairy tale, like you could read it to children, said the stylish, vest-wearing young man behind the counter. I agree. I also love the candles, bags and candied violets there. One day I will buy a small sack of those violets to decorate rich butter cookies, cupcakes and cakes.
- Anne Fontaine. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous takes on the white shirt. Ethereal, floaty, feminine or crisp.
- Via Quadronno...this cozy restaurant around the corner from Milly caught my eye. I long to go there one day for Cioccolato Caldo [hot chocolate] and a panini. I just put the bright postcard on the fridge and wrote, DAN, PLS. TAKE ME HERE FOR DINNER 1 DAY! with a heart.
- Vosges. OMG, they were sampling two truffles on a tray, one being Wink of the Rabbit: soft caramel + deep milk chocolate + organic New Mexican pecan. And they gave you a whole one, not a cut-up bite. So elegant, perfectly rich and smooth, and dainty, so not too fattening. [I then bought one for $2.25, plus a seductive Tlan Nacu truffle--Mexican vanilla bean + Venezuelan 65% dark chocolate--for $2.50.] You have to check the Vosges Easter chocolate. I hope to buy some. Better to have a bit of exquisite chocolate for your basket than a lot of drugstore crap. Note: If I were rich, I would nibble on the tiniest quantity of Tlan Nacu truffles from time to time...
- Lilly Pulitzer. Looking good, as always. Nice sweaters, skinny belts, maxi dresses, rings, juicy colors and classic socialite whites.
- Tory Burch. Walked by but didn't duck in. Couldn't be late for dr. Great dress in window.
- Loro Piana. Sumptuous cashmere.
- Oscar de la Renta. Dream dress on display. I stopped to look.
- Dean & DeLuca......oh, the fancy yogurts, pricey cheeses and chocolates, nearly-Lilliputian butter cookies, rich donuts, tall layer cakes....just looked, didn't succumb.
*Technically, it was not a colorful magic carpet but rather a DeCamp #66 bus, $7.40 each way between Montclair and the Port Authority.
TCOY
- Boot camp in the park. Invigorating.
- Two hours of walking in NYC.
- Made some new goals. For one, stop eating so much butter!!!!!!!!! And get to bed by 11 each night.
- Listening to audio recording of The Outermost House while working now.
