Peace--and Pushaw Lake Family Photo Album

H., Fig and I kayaked. I mostly sat.
The boys skipping stones.

My sister-in-law Eileen--H.'s baby sister, born when he was 12--and me.
Eileen's husband Mike.
Flowers my sister-in-law Sheila brought from her garden.

Tranquil. Breezy. Lake gently rippling against small sandy beach at Eileen & Mike's camp. [Mainers call their vacation homes camps.] This morning we saw mom, dad and little loon paddling on lake. When the dog ran to the water and barked, the parent closest to shore started a shrill warning call to the family and all three swam away.

Will that trusting junior grow up to show disrespect sometimes? To dye her hair crimson? Just wondering. I think I like it better when our loons are young and trusting, hanging on our every word. When they paddle contentedly by our side, as if to say, Where else would I possibly rather be? Who else has wings so snug and strong? That's how it looked to me as the little loon paddled safely away from danger, one parent on each side.

Soon we leave the lake and head to Belfast. We're staying at the Wonderview Cottages on the water for two nites.

Not sure re wifi at the cottages but will be back at my Belfast Co-op pretty darn soon!

Peace. Trying to fill my soul with it in this beautiful setting.
