When Figgy was younger, we used to break up the 450-mile drive to Maine by stopping at a hotel here midway through. Now that Punch is in our pack, we did the same. We're at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Tewksbury. [I just read on Wikipedia that Anne Sullivan, Helen Keller's teacher/companion, was from this town.] Rooms are about $80 a night now, so we got two--one for Figgy and Punch and one for us.
The rooms are really nice. The ride, not so much, at least the first leg. Too ugly to describe. But it was pleasant to stop at Sis and Don's in Stamford, CT--we dropped our sweet Sug off for the week, saw their twinkling tree, slipped gifts underneath it, and left with festive packages. [Punch opened one gift, a medical kit, and promptly began checking Don's heart and blood pressure.]
Sis had some treats out, including Toll House Cookies, which our Mom used to make for Christmas Eve [and stash in a big round blue and white tin under her bed--so they'd last until the eggnog was ready to be served in her mother's cut-crystal bowl].
Feeling nostalgic for my parents.
Good night.

- Salon blowout--at home. Since Kerri Lynn made a house call today.
- Gave Sug a tiny walk. Weather so mild. Felt like Florida last Christmas. H. just told me it's going to 8 degrees on Christmas morning up in Maine.
