Taking a Breather

Did June ever need a breather from the Beav?
Filled my lungs not with sea air [I wish] but with sweet support today. So grateful. Went to morning support group, saw great people there. Then Java Love, for quick latte with wise friend. Then into NYC with Moey, who drove her daughter in for acting class. We had two hours for lunch and chat [very good New York pizza on 46th Street] while Laura had class. I booked golden Elaine to watch Punch from noon to 5, and Figgy watched her before then, because H. is under work pressure and was at library all day.

Thank goodness and good fortune that we have the money to pay for child care. I needed to step back, step away--and I felt recharged. I was losing it. I now feel better able to be patient and nurturing. And here's how golden-hearted Elaine is: She would only take the money for five hours, but had Punch for 45 minutes past that, so I could take a nap. And as for Punch, she loves her. How long are you watching me? she questioned. Five hours, we said. Can you watch me for five days? she asked. As I've said before, children love Elaine. And so do parents, which is why her schedule fills up fast!

Good night.

  2. Nap.
  3. Hot tea.
