Rough two-hour ride down the Parkway with fidgety Punch, but we're here. We ate right in front of the crackling wood fire at 5 P.M. at The Blue Pig Tavern in our hotel. So warm and welcoming, with bright red chairs. I had Mom's Meat Loaf; delicious, and not a huge trucker's portion, which is good--because Mom apparently really knows how to make meat loaf and I would have eaten every last forkful.
Around 8:15, we walked around town and onto the sand and it was freezing. I huddled in my hood. H. pointed out stars. The taffy and ice cream shops were shuttered. Now we're watching "Saving Mr. Banks" on HBO. What a beautiful, beautiful film.
Good night.
