Teaser: Artist Winslow Homer's Window on the World

The rugged coastline outside the bachelor artist's small studio.

A Summer Night, Winslow Homer, 1890.
Forsythia springs forth near his newly renovated studio, which is open for tours.
Breathtaking inspiration.
As if on cue, a little red boat approaches.
The artist put up warning signs about snakes and mice to "keep little old ladies away," says Kristen Levesque of the Portland Museum of Art, which owns and renovated the artist's studio.

I promise to write more later!
