Turtle Time

Prepping diamond-back terrapin turtle nests in the sand on Lieutenant Island today was so cool. We were on a team led by Jerry, who knows everything about when, where, why and how the turtles nest.

We raked out the weeds so they won't interfere with turtle comfort and practicality.

It was another beautiful day on the Cape. I've been in close touch w H. on the home front and we return tomorrow.

We saw a fox tonight!

Grateful for:
1. Marty, who lives in Provincetown. We met raking turtle nests.
2. Jerry, Barbara, Joanna, Jim, Caleb, Betsy & others involved in cleanup day.
3. Great Pond, as always. A compass of sorts.
4. Anne and Nikki. H., Moey, Sis, my brother Will.
5. Ellen and Fletcher, a couple from Connecticut who pulled up in the parking lot at Nauset Light Beach tonight at about 8:30. They had two small biodegradable hot air balloons to release and invited Nikki and Punch to help. They told the girls to make wishes when they released them. Pretty.
6. Mother Nature, in all her beauty & wisdom.

Great Pond.
Birdhouses for sale outside a farmhouse; $25 each.
Orleans and old Cape trees.
