Fixin' to Leave Savannah--Reluctantly

Waiting for my flight at the calm and pretty Savannah Airport.

Leaving Tybee behind. But I can tell it will stay in my heart. Islands give you that lasting memory.

I don't want to go!!!

Below, the view from a remote barrier island where we had a low-country boil yesterday afternoon. Captain Renee took us out on a skiff and we coasted through the marsh grass and zipped in and out of coves.

We saw dolphins [i think they had been on the trail of a shrimp boat], a Bald Eagle, blue heron, snowy white egrets--like the one who stood silently at a distance, watching while we ate our corn and peeled our shrimp.
