An ongoing quest for the meaning of life. Does true happiness exist in a Tory Burch turquoise-trimmed sheath, a MarieBelle Dark Chocolate Croquette bar, a rose garden, a rocky Maine beach, a daughter's eyes, an inky star-sprinkled sky, hours of computer keystrokes that tell a story--or all of the above?
I liked it. What did you think? Lin
ReplyDeleteHi Lin......I felt melancholy. I will miss the show so much. I like that Peggy found a love and an electric typewriter. I loved the Coke ad and the idea that Don went back to McCann to do it. But I didn't like leaving a lot of things hanging. I never liked Pete but I like Trudy--I love Roger even though he can be....duplicitous. I don't know....I also was annoyed by the waitress red herring this season...all that time spent looking for her....but my friend Michael says it was all part of Don's breakdown. Hope all is good. Love, Alice
ReplyDelete...parting is such sweet sorrow....
ReplyDeleteI know. I will miss it, too. All in all, it seemed like realistic tie-ups (although Peggy's tie-up was satisfying, but I thought maybe a little fairy tale-ish for her character). Watching the characters develop with the times was the best part of the series, for me. I am glad that Joan did not end up with Richard(?). He was wrong for her. And I think your friend is right about the waitress plot line.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you guys, too! Love, Lin
The ad is my favorite of all time and I am from the land of coke. I thought it was an ingenious ending.
ReplyDeleteYes the ending was undeniably brilliant. From the land of Coke, funny! Lin, maybe you're right....I didn't feel chemistry in the Peggy kiss but I did in their phone call...
