Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia. Here is the LINK for photo. |
Spoiler Alert: IDK, maybe last paragraph?
If so, I'm sorry! Just so stunning.
I don't think I've ever seen a "Star Wars" film--is that even possible?*--but this one was so hyped that H., who has seen them, got us tickets yesterday for tonite's 7 p.m. 3-D screening at the Bellevue Theatre in Montclair. Long line of ticket holders by 6:15!
Even though I've been in the dark side on this franchise, I was familiar with/have seen these "Star Wars" trademarks: Harrison Ford, Darth Vader, the robot R2-D2, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia with braids wound on her head, and the phrase May the force be with you. Ford and Fisher are in it again; love that. They both look older--of course, since they first appeared in 1977--but she still has a crown of braids.
It was engaging and exciting and the place where the final scene is shot is breathtaking. Looked like Ireland. Yes, per Wikipedia: On July 29, 2014, filming took place over three days at Skellig Michael island off the coast of County Kerry in Ireland....It was a place I'd love to see in person. Absolute edge of the earth. Good night.

*I follow my friend Kim's blog; she and her friend Liz are movie buffs. And Liz said in a comment to Kim that she saw the 1977 "Star Wars" 12 times! I can't believe I missed the boat [or spaceship].
