TTYL

Punchy at a sleepover and Fig babysitting up the block. Dan and I got to have a nice dinner and watch a movie at home. I do worry about what the young girls will stay up watching on TV......but.....good night.

TCOY
  1. Walked to town and back, 50 min. total.
  2. Pedi.
  3. Made pizza with cauliflower/Parmesan crust--tomatoes, kale, red pepper and basil on top.
  4. Talked heart to heart w my Figgy.
  5. Worked.
  6. Did the long online registration for colonoscopy this Monday. I'm dreading the prep but my mom died of colon cancer at my age; this test wasn't around then. This is the third one I'm having, but it's been at least 10 years since the last one. My dr. keeps telling me to go.
  7. Saw my friend Anne.
  8. Dinner & movie with Dan.

  1. Ok, here's my big colonoscopy tip. You've had several so you may know this already, but it's shocking to me more doctors don't do this. I got the tip from another friend who had many. You do NOT have to drink the gallons of yucky liquid. I took pills. If you have problem swallowing, can't help you there, because there are LOTS of pills to take in intervals, but I would swallow a thousand pills rather than drink vile liquids. Farhan brought this up with his doc a year later and they prescribed little packets like crystal light lemonade and he drank that with just 1/2 cup of cold water. So there are alternatives out there. I also ate very lightly and simply for 2 days before and the whole prep thing was so not a big deal. My gift to you! Let me know how it goes. Important test no matter what esp with your family history so good for you keeping on top of it.

  2. Good luck on Monday. On the bright side, this is a way to lose a couple of pounds (even though it usually comes back.) It's too late now since you probably already have your prep, but another option (to ask your doctor about next time) is an 8 ounce bottle of Miralax mixed with 32 ounces of Gatorade. Not bad at all -- no taste to the Miralax. Love, Lin P.S. Happy Father's Day to Dan.
