Mini Girls Trip to Cape May

Punchy and I drove 2.5 hours down the Parkway this afternoon to mile 0, Cape May! [Above, pretty basket of flowers at Congress Hall.] Sis treating us and Don’s daughter and granddaughter from Wisconsin to an overnight stay at The Grand Hotel. I’m tired, though. I was up til 1 a.m. on article deadlines and then didn’t sleep well. Sis took us all out to the Blue Pig Tavern in Congress Hall for dinner--Dan and I love that place. It was lovely, as usual. Must take a shower and go to sleep. Back to Montclair tomorrow. I did like listening to Johnny Cash and his daughter, Rosanne Cash, singing a duet ["September When It Comes"] on the car ride, and seeing clumps of cattails on the roadside. Punchy loved eating out at the restaurant. Sea dreams.

  1. Glad you get to spend time with Sis (and others) at a beautiful place during an uncrowded time of year! I love Cape May. Have fun today! Love, Lin

  2. Suggest using Your selective memory to forget the drive and the bad sleep, and only remember the family and food and flowers and water views. One of the few benefits of aging 😄

  3. Hi Lin and Liz. I missed these comments yesterday. Thank you! Lin, maybe we can do a cousins meetup in Cape May some time, except Sis got a little grouchy at how long the drive was from Connecticut. Love Al
