Radio City Still Rocks

I treated Sis, Fig and Punch [girls above] to tickets to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I like to do this every year, but last December, funds were tight.

Favorite parts:

  • Multiplying Santas act. Starts with one, explaining to two young brothers how he is everywhere. Soon there are dozens.
  • Wooden soldiers--Rockettes in a line, leaning back and falling one by one into each other’s arms.
  • Orchestra rising up from below the stage.
  • Rockettes, in pretty belted coats, singing and dancing on red NYC Gray Line bus.
  • The magi bringing gifts. Real camels and a donkey.
  • I noticed new songs, dances and costumes. They really changed it up but left a lot of the jewels in place in the crown.

Unfavorite part:

  • It’s 11:41 p.m. and we are just going to sleep now. The show was at 8 and we hustled back to Port Authority to get packed 10:15 bus home.

Good night.
