Every time I look below at my How I Spent Our Bread 🥖List for August,
I'm happy with the dress labels I found at
T.J. Maxx: Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and Nicole Miller.

No lie, as much as we love Punch and are fully committed to her as legal guardians, our life is much calmer when she is visiting her Mimi, as she is right now.

Dan made dinner tonight--shrimp tacos--and brought me flowers yesterday.

We have been resting and reading.

We also can work productively without patching together child care. And I'm not fretting about a little girl who is always on the go.

TCOY

1. Biked in and out of town.
2. Cool bath with seaweed bath sachet from purevitacapecod.com.
3. A strap broke from the sole on my new Tory Burch silver sandal the night I returned from the Cape. I called the company and they are sending me a replacement pair at no charge. Today I shipped the first pair back. Yay. So easy to put off this stuff--and I love the sandals, because they elevate every outfit.
4. Short walk with Sug.
5. Candlelight on mantel.
6. Weeded gardens.
7. The shrimp tacos with avocado and lime.

$ MONEY SPENT OUT OF POCKET

• Post Office, large padded envelope to ship sandals [the UPS shipping charge was covered] and one biz-size envelope with postage on it to mail a letter from town, about $3.28.
• Sun Graphics. Our printer is [forever] broken, so I emailed UPS label and they printed it plus another page, $2.10.
• Sandwich Theory, large iced coffee and small bag pretzels, plus $1 jar tip, about $3.47.
• Jackie's Grillette, lamb gyro in pita with feta [avoided fries, yay], with $1 jar tip, about $10.47.
• Kings, shrimp taco ingredients, half-gallon coconut milk for Fig, toilet paper and good rye bread, $32.41.

TOTAL DAILY SPEND: $51.73.
TOTAL MONTHLY SPEND AS OF AUGUST 16: $1,995.32.

AVERAGE DAILY SPEND FOR MONTH SO FAR: $124.70.

🥖Fill gas tank twice on Cape Cod, $46 x 2= $92.
🥖Idle Times bike shop rental for Punch from noon Saturday until 5 p.m. Sunday, $31.
🥖T.J. Maxx, four designer dresses, Adidas sneakers, knock-off lightweight Burberry scarf, Olga bra, Lauren pillow, shorts, etc. etc., $338.

🥖Pizza+/fancyish restaurant dinner with Punch after swimming in pond in Brewster until after 7 p.m., $77.

🥖Mac's Market & Kitchen, lobster, clams, kale salad, mango salsa and other Sunday dinner ingredients, $53.

🥖Brewster bakery, including cookbook I somehow lost, maybe a message from God because it was packed with recipes for sweets, $25.

COMPARISON SHOPPING. That long Cape Cod vacay in August really drove the numbers up so far.
