I went to the Orleans Coin-A-Matic to do the wash...strange comfort in a place that has changed very little in decades. Since I was a girl, a newlywed, a woman yearning for a baby, a mother of Figgy, a legal guardian to Punch....
Have to dash....on Route 6 East to pick up Punchy when camp at Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary gets out. Pickup time is 2:15 to 2:45 range.

Quick list of beauty sightings:
- Horseshoe crab armor, discarded as the creature molted and was ready for a bigger spiky suit. Its old one was caught in a sieve of sea grass.
- Queen Anne's Lace growing in clumps by the roadside.
- Seals in ocean.
- Bunny rabbits.
- Sugar and Punch on Uncle Tim's Bridge in Wellfleet.
- Swaying marsh grass.
- Bridge behind Coast Guard Beach, in Nauset Marsh.
- Trail into the woods there, which Dan, Punch and I took.
- Oyster shells.
- Families together.
- The bike path.
- The worn, pine-needle cushioned road into Wellfleet Bay Sanctuary.
- A lobster roll.
- The moon last night!
- Punchy's pure laughter when we watch funny movies on DVD at night in our Cape Cod living room. She is free to laugh like a happy child up here, on a peninsula in the sea, far from her past in both miles and minutes. She is also movie-watching with parents who are on break, too, not working or stressing so much.

Wonderful list!
ReplyDeleteCross your fingers please that I can muster some glamor tomorrow, been ages siince I dressed up!
