High Stress Meter

Some days are easy, some days are hard. Today was and still is a sour pickle, at 6:25 pm.

I feel like an Uber driver with Punch sometimes. After school, I took her to the doctor in Verona [asthma test, flu shot] and drove across town to her friends' house, to drop her off and pick her up. I was counting out 22 pennies at Joyist. It was raining and I didn't change out of my yoga clothes. Soccer practice was rained out. It all felt very stressful and disjointed. I plan to finish today's work here at the Bellevue Branch of the Montclair Public Library and later, at Starbucks. Dan got back from Dallas around 5 pm and we are both under blanket of stress.

I'm convinced that making unwise, frenzied, low-budget beverage and food choices also feeds stress. In my case this rainy stress-ball day: giant "Jerusalem" bagel, too much coffee and Ritz whole wheat crackers with cheese.

  1. Harold and the Purple Crayon is the greatest. Did you ever see the TV version? I think HBO made a short series, and we had a DVD with about five episodes on it. LOVED it when the kids were little.

    1. Hi Eileen....no, I didn't see the TV one..but the book is charming....Punch put it in her pile to donate to the big town book sale, but I extracted it and read it. Kind of enchanting. Love Alice
