Day of Rest: AKA, Slugfest

Vintage poster on Amazon.com. [Here is LINK.] This movie is such a gift, all these
73 years after it came out, in 1946.
A gift wrapped in red satin ribbon , or maybe angel-wing white tulle.

TCOY
  1. Slept really late, since Punch at Mimi's and Poppy's. Didn't go to support group. Plan to go tomorrow morning at another location, since I don't have to get Punch to CCD class.
  2. Bubble bath.
  3. Dan and I watched "It's a Wonderful Life," via Amazon Prime, on our TV.. Figgy watched part with us before going out with friends. [She is 24 and said in amazement, He's supposed to be 28? about George Bailey. When Mr. Potter is trying to hire him for $20,000 a year, he notes that George is 28.] I have never watched the movie so closely before, and I love it. We paused it several times to study all the nuances, the beauty, the faces. The magic on the bridge, the toll keeper's face, the rose petals in George's pocket. Every detail we could study. Such a story. Note to my friend Eileen, who is from Elmira, New York: I'm sure you noticed that Elmira is mentioned, that one of the men who works for Mr. Potter says he wants to get back to Elmira and be with his family for Christmas? I'm glad I went to Elmira for your and Pete's wedding!
  4. Talked on phone to Sis and Moey, nice long chats.
  5. Ate a couple of healthy foods--broccoli Dan steamed, and small bowl Grape-nuts.
Total daily spend: $0.
That's because I lounged around all day. I did clean the bathroom, do the dishes and clean the kitchen floor, but I did not leave the house except to take Sug briefly in backyard. It felt good to rest.
Ongoing monthly spend with all except coat added now: $2,340.28.
Average daily spend: $101.75.

This is high. But since Oct. 21, my monthly spend has included round-trip daily bus fare of $13.90; subway fare one or two ways per day [I try to walk the hour back to the Port Authority but am sometimes too tired or need to get home faster to Punchy]; and some work accessories, such as Wolford tights; a modern lipstick; and better-quality reading glasses.

COMPARE TO 3 PRIOR MONTHS:

TOTAL SPEND FOR OCTOBER (31 DAYS): $2,495.36.🍎 ⬆️
AVERAGE DAILY SPEND: $80.49.🍎 ⬆️

    1. Hi Kim. I know it's profound but I didn't appreciate just how profound until last night. Such a story arc, you know? I could see how much Dan related to it....the little children on Christmas Eve....clinging to goodness, rose petals, a Santa mask, even when things are upsetting...the way Dan studied the story, I think it must have affected his 60-Second Novel storytelling skills.....and Mary Bailey's dresses! Oh, just everything. I now worship Frank Capra. Have a good day. I hope all is well and that your Thanksgiving is great. Love Alice
