Our team had to do a 5 pm phone interview for a story pitch. That’s unusually late for us, but the schedule changed and also, the woman only speaks Spanish, so all of our questions and all of her answers had to be translated through a third party on the call. I could understand words like, oh, si; mi casa; and las ninas.
That took until 6:10, so we didn’t get to the office Christmas party, at a festive pub, til about 6:30. It was billed for 5 to 7 but went to 7:30.
It was open bar, but I just got ice water. Teetering on heels, tipsy, on icy ground [until I changed back into my sneakers]=bad idea.
We three latecomers descended on the platters of sliders 🍔.Later, one of my colleagues from the call--and another equally slim, lovable and smart young man on staff--both twenty-somethings--filled to-go containers with the rest.
Good night, before my 8:30 bus even pulls into the gate.
Prayers for someone dear to me.

Will crunch numbers soon.

I will see a huge uptick with Christmas shopping when paycheck arrives.

Hi Liz! Thanks. The movie we saw the other nite was "Knives Out,' because we were too tired to see it that Sunday night. I worked at home on Monday so I was able to get to 6:30 movie. Dan, Punch and I really liked it. When it first opened, and I saw the popcorn concession people wearing "Knives out" marketing hats, I thought it was some violent movie. But Dan told me it was like a modern "Clue." Favorite part was the language: 'Trouble afoot" and things like that! love alice
