I heard a man joking with the cashier at the hardware store today.
He was buying a few packs of brown paper lawn & leaf bags and a tank of propane, I guess for a big BBQ grill.
There's nothing else to do, he said, so I might as well do this. We're all going to have the cleanest houses. This is the biggest spring clean ever.
We all got a good laugh. Sports events for kids cancelled/postponed, movies in question [sit three seats apart], fitness classes off. I got some leaf bags, too, and Dan and I did a lot of cleanup in our backyard. It feels good.
Need to take a bath.
Good night, be well.

- Support group. But that meeting will be going onto Zoom now, so this group of five of us was probably last face to face for a while. Many other members were on Zoom.
- Talked to my good friend from above [who had done Zoom call].
- Nap.
- Bought beautiful deep purple hyacinths in clay pot, will plant outside in week or two, so they return next year.
- Cleaning up our yard and garden felt great.
- Talked to Sis.
- Doing delicate wash.
- Healthy dinner--broiled salmon, sweet potato, asparagus.
- Dan just started playing "Strangers on a Train," an old black and white Hitchcock movie.
$ MONEY SPENT OUT OF POCKET
I spent a lot.
- Kings, ongoing toilet paper frenzy, even flour and sugar sold out. Crazy. I got paper products, dish soap, cornmeal, sugar, Five Acre Farms local buttermilk [I plan to make low-sugar cornbread], hyacinth plant, macadamia nuts for treat, large container shelled walnuts, 3 yogurts in glass jars, Crest toothpaste, Viva two-pack paper towels, $61.87.
- Hardware store, 4-pack AA batteries, $4.15.
- Ditto, 5-pack leaf bags, $3.19.
- Joyist, smoothie to bring Figgy at work, $12.
- The General Store at Cornerstone Montclair, cute honeybee lights on a string to add warmth and glow to the dining room in this trying time, $14.93.
- Vesta Chocolate, I really wanted to lay in an emergency supply of dark chocolate but I am doing my best to not partake. Large latte plus tip, $6.06. [Vesta has gift cards now, yay, nice gifts.]
- Bagel shop on Bellevue, indulged in everything bagel with lox, scallion cream cheese, red onion, tomato and capers, $10.45.
Total daily spend: $112.65.
Ongoing monthly spend as of March 14: $1,175.04.
avg daily spend: $83.93.
