- Read Kim's blog advice for fighting coronavirus. Took it to heart. [Kim works in the marketing/communications department of a busy hospital in the heart of Brooklyn.] Remembered Dr. Fauci's words about how if you think you are doing too much or being too cautious, that's good--you might just be doing enough. In that spirit, I ordered two of Punchy's prescriptions to be delivered by mail, free of charge. CVS yesterday felt like a ghost town, and the cashiers seemed scared.
- Drove up Garden State Parkway for door-stoop delivery to my dear friends. One-hour drive round trip. So glad I live close enough. Who could've predicted that we would be dropping off "gifts" like cleaning spray and liquid hand soap?
- Talked to my brother Will, who lives in a NYC apartment with Kelly, not too far from Gramercy Park, and left a message for my brother John who has been "up in the country" at a friend's house and not in his NYC apt. Texted with Sis in Connecticut, who sends me a beautiful photo every day from her walks with Buttercup. Today's was of Tiny Dancer daffodils.
- Ate the vegetable soup Dan made. Punch didn't--she hates onions and mushrooms--so she just had the warm French bread with butter and two clementines. Figgy has taken to exercising almost every night to a video class with her dear cousin Marissa, in Florida, and eats dinner after us. We miss her at the table and told her to be there with us tomorrow, please!
- Texted on a thread with Moey and Fritch, my two gal pals since kindergarten. Ditto on a long text thread with my boot camp friends.
- Supervised Figgy planting already-bloomed hyacinth and daff bulbs in front garden. Hope for next year. Beauty to store away and be revealed next spring, when the Earth will be new again.
- Played school with Punch. So did Dan for a while. She is an amazing, nurturing teacher. She sets up classwork and tests for us on google classroom in science, math, social studies, ELA and reading. It is really fun.
Hoping and a praying. Praying and a hoping.
