Let the Sun Shine

The sunshine helped, big time.

Even shampooing my hair felt sunny and fresh.

I put on a sunny yellow top, inspired by Carol Brady's sunny yellow dress in "The Brady Bunch" on Sunday.

Figgy offered to teach Punchy today, and they brought a chair up to Fig's attic bedroom so they could sit side by side at the long desk. God bless Figgy.

I took a walk around the block with Dan and Sugar around 4 pm  and then, at 5:15 pm, another walk with Figgy, Punch and Sug, up by the Iris Gardens. We saw fat, busy bumblebees, birds and a worm.

On the way back, we ran into my dear friend, Lisa, aka La Princessa, who was out for a run. She stopped and walked and we talked for a good catch-up, keeping our distance.

Good night to you.

TCOY
  1. See above, plus talked to Sis and Moey, emailed my brother Will. And yesterday, I spoke to my cousin Linda. Talking to family and friends is TCOY in this pandemic, for sure.
  2. On cvs.com, with free 2-day shipping, I ordered bath salts and bubble bath. Can't wait.
  3. Roasted fresh beets, potatoes, onions and baby carrots with olive oil.
$ MONEY SPENT OUT OF POCKET
  • CVS.com, two separate orders, one for $93.42, and then, because I forgot to add something, a second for $39.29. Both orders qualified for free, pretty fast shipping [I think it's $35 or more] and store sales. My carts held copious amounts of Folgers coffee, 2 bottles Dawn dishwashing liquid, a huge box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, which both girls love, Sun-Maid raisins, seasoned cashews and other groceries, including 4 cans of Carnation evaporated milk, which I always wish we had on hand when we run out of milk and have to space out our visits to the grocery store. I like A LOT of milk in my coffee.
I ordered 4 cans to have on hand for emergency milk for coffee.
This is evaporated milk, not the very sweet and
heavy canned condensed milk used in Key lime pies and magic bars.
Total daily spend: $132.71.
Ongoing monthly spend as of April 28: $2,143.19.
Avg. daily spend: $76.54.

  1. Glad to see this, and stealing 2 ideas - going to wear yellow today, and put evaporated milk on list for backup. We like in coffee too! And yes, God bless F who offers respite when P too much. Hang in there!

    1. Liz, thanks, and thanks for your supportive comment the other day, too. I couldn't comment. How did your yellow work out? It was another challenging homeschool day here. #staysafe Love Alice

  2. Sunshine is everything to my mood! We’ve got it right now, at least, in a very rainy April.

    Xoxo,
