Sayonara, Thursday

 Good night to Thursday things:

  • Detailed memories I wrote as a young mother--reviewing for an essay. Grateful for that very thick stack of typed notes.
  • Two cups of coffee with half and half.
  • Dinner reservations made for Sunday at 5, outdoors, Montclair--me, Dan, Moey, Ted.
  • Taking Sugar out (not very far) in cold, rainy weather.
  • Visit to Vesta Chocolate to get a Halloween treat for Figgy and a mocha with Chantilly cream!! for Punch on this dreary, chilly day. We enjoyed seeing Roger and Ana working there.
  • Story pitch sent.
  • Question emailed to article source in Paris. Wondering about how they bring winter celebrating indoors there...greens, candles, etc. (Yet I realize France is facing a second lockdown due to Covid--depressing. I hope the French still find enough winter joy.)
  • Last-minute call (9:35 p.m.) to our neighbor, Liz, a pediatrician--to see if Punch could borrow scrubs to wear for Zoom school tomorrow (Halloween costume). She already has a real stethoscope from another neighbor. P and most of her friends love watching all seasons of "Grey's Anatomy." Good Liz, who was putting her own young son to bed, hung scrubs in a bag on her door for us to get at 7:20 a.m. tomorrow on our way to school pod.
  • Tuna on rye.
  • Pumpkin ravioli Dan bought at ShopRite.
  • Getting along better with Punch, Dan and Figgy--all of us improving individually, I think/hope/pray, and as a unit.
