Good Night, Easter Saturday

It’s 9:21 p.m. and I still have to drive over and get Skippy from her friends’ house and then bring her to Figgy’s, for their sister sleepover in the apartment. They’re working on collages and eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch with vanilla oat milk.

I couldn’t sink into sleep until 3:30 a.m. so can’t wait to go to bed. But it was a beautiful sunny day, with Skip getting a pretty hair trim at the salon, walking in town with her friends. She curled her pal V’s hair with a curling iron, and polished their nails. We watched them play in a 5 p.m. soccer game at Brookdale Park. She’s been reading the book she bought with Dan on Friday. I walked Butter and Sugar twice with Sis, plus we did a loop around the track at the park and ate the chard spanakopita and Passover kugel recipe I made (even though we’re not Jewish). I also gardened and planted.

Dan put up the lovely new lace curtains that let sun into the living room, cleaned the wood stairs and floor (so they have that nice fresh smell), got a third round of groceries because we needed more fruit and vegan stuff for Figgy.

My thyroid biopsy came back benign. Deep sigh of relief.

Sleep well.
