Where Palm Trees Sway and Alligators Lurk

Today I begin a two-day girls’ trip drive to Florida with Figgy and Skipper. Our Fig is moving to Jacksonville to pursue her master’s in cyanobacteria algae research at University of North Florida.

This is just a quick post from my dining room table. But it's a vital one. My dear little Figgy, the baby who changed my life so dramatically. She has never lived farther away than NYC (which is close).

Now it’s 11:03 p.m. and Fig taking her turn at the wheel.

ETA 1:37 a.m. it was cool to pass DC and see the Washington Monument lit up as we cruised by on the highway (the beltway?)
