I met my friend for coffee today....shopper news downtown on Valley Road. Where the large GAP was for years? Athleta is coming!
That GAP was there at least since I was toting Baby Figgy to do my last-minute Christmas shopping one snowy December afternoon. I was working at Hearst Magazines, and each employee could choose a half day off for holiday shopping. I wanted to let the nanny, who worked here from 8:30 to 5:30, head home so that I could spend time with my baby girl.
I remember talking to the nice brunette saleswoman at the Olympic Shop...about whether we had started our Christmas cookie baking yet. I think we both had, or at least had firm dough plans in our heads.
The white plastic car seat/carrier with padded, blue printed liner was heavy, with my baby in it, along with the packages. I got a button-down shirt for Dan (or was it for Sis’s husband, Don?) at the Olympic Shop, and had it gift-wrapped, then left it at the GAP in my haste. I did realize and retrieve it the next day. (I also liked the Olympic Shop to get my mother-in-law sweaters or fleece vests/tops.)
It is amazing....Figgy is 26 now. She sounds really good as an estuary research fellow at graduate school in Florida. We just received a card and a glittery seashell magnet, so pretty. We also talk and text a lot.
Good night.
