Pie in the Sky--My Personal Wish List

This little secret has changed my life in the last 35 hours. If only every beauty product could be this good.
Oh, wishing is fun. It really is. I personally would rather pine for things rather than get off my bottom and actually do something about it.

My Wish List
  1. That teenagers could be teenagers but still adore you completely and totally, and hang on your every word, and wait for your days off from work just so they could get to see you. You, wonderful, amazing, pretty, smart, fabulous, capable, talented, fully accessorized you [at least that's how they seemed to see you, with reverence]. Just like they did at age 4, back in preschool, when they waddled around behind you in pink stretch pants and fuzzy zippered vests and glittery hairbands.
  2. That milkshakes and gelato and whipped cream did not pad our bodies, only our souls.
  3. That there were more products like the amazing one I just got yesterday on my maiden voyage to Beauty Bar on Valley Road in Montclair. It's O-Gloss Intuitive Lip Gloss, a pretty pink squeeze tube of promise [pictured above] that changes hue depending on your lip color! I was skeptical until the lovely African-American salesperson showed me with the tester. It took on one [more natural-looking] shade on her and a young, uplifting pink that I really love on mine! I had to see it to believe it. I want to race back and buy every tube. I want to buy stock in the Smashbox cosmetics company. But I will settle for the one little baby beauty, because she alone cost $22. The magic ingredients include Goji Berry-C Complex™ and ginkgo biloba, pomegranate seed antioxidants, marine botanicals and moisturizing avocado oil. Figgy and H. may like eating boldly colored, healthful pomegranates, but me, I'd rather get some in my lip gloss. http://www.smashbox.com/
  4. That the people in my household would get off their chairs, beds, couch, exercise bike [or out of the bathtub] to do the dishes more.
  5. That it would be possible to love to shop yet still not clutter up one's small surroundings.
  6. That flowers sprouted everywhere, for everyone. Beautiful, velvety, unfolding, ruffly, magical, sweet-smelling flowers of every kind and color.
  7. That money grew on trees.
  8. That everyone got a brand-new pair of shoes--her choice--whenever she wanted.
  9. That a pair of good, sleek tights never ran.
  10. That one could still have beautiful nails, painted carefully while watching TV, in all the sleekest colors, just like one used to before she got married and became a mother and had a complicated, artistic partner and less time to watch TV and polish her nails. That color might be a glossy brown right now, which one may have in fact already purchased a bottle of but still has not had the time or space to use.
Thank you for indulging me and my wish-making. What about you? If you could have any wishes, what would they be? Good night. I'm finally going to get some sleep.

  1. May all your wishes be granted. I wish that I had a functioning magic wand to grant said wishes. They are good ones. I like numbers 2, 4, 6, 7 and 8 (with a handbag addendum). Love, Linda
