Gifted Cousins

Look at my cousin Linda's Christmas card for this year! So lovely.
I  just want to reach out and hug the doggy.
P.S. Linda, is this your dog Parker?
One day I want to blog about all the cousins on the Irish side of my family [my Mom's side]. There were 16 of us total, and our backyard Communion parties and barbecues on Long Island and in Dumont were loud and fun. I pretty much idolized my Mahon girl cousins, the daughters of my mother's three younger brothers--and for good reason. And I got a kick out of my boy cousins, too. But all of that is for another blog post.

Tonight, it's all about my cousin Linda [from the Italian side--and I idolized her, too] and Figgy's cousin, Leah.

The Artist
Linda is a gifted artist. Has been all her life. She went to art school in Philadelphia, and landed a job at Hallmark right after. Every year, she designs and makes her own Christmas card, and it is amazing. It always got a place of honor at 187 Bedford Road, the house Dad lived in for 50 years.

When Dad saw Linda's card this year, he loved it. Look at this dog. Isn't he beautiful? he said to everyone who walked by his cushioned chair at Van Dyk Manor. My niece drew it. She's an artist. He was proud.

Now Linda sells notecards, and I was delighted to buy some on Amazon. I love using them. Check them out: http://www.amazon.com/SilverNotes-Waterscapes-Note-Cards/dp/B0046B75KW/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1292467748&sr=8-6. These are the waterscapes, but there are others: go to amazon.com and search silvernotes [Linda's married name is Silver.]

The Entrepreneur
And then there's Leah, the daughter of H.'s oldest brother, John. Scoot over to her website for CRAFT socially conscious advertising, a site designed with help from another of my nieces, the very talented Anna Hurley [daughter of H.'s brother Patrick].

Here's the link: http://www.craftmediany.com/.

In awe of these three ladies.

Good night.
