The Angelgrams Arrived

By no means is the journey over, but it has begun, and I think, I trust, that is the hardest part.

I saw the angels you sent our way. The flights of fancy, the army of tiny but mighty heroes. The lovely fairies with beating wings. [BTW, Figgy believed for the longest time in Belinda, the fairy H. dreamed up just for her. She was tooth fairy deluxe. Belinda wrote Fig notes in impossibly small handwriting; she left messages at sleepaway camp, too, when Figgy was little. Once, she left Fig a fairy statue up on Cape Cod for her August birthday. H. said it really felt like Belinda was taking over his body when he wrote the notes, and he was just delivering the messages. I believe him. The voice was so good and true and magical.]

But today I saw the good fairies, the messengers, in strangers' smiles. I heard them in chitchat about the weather, really just code language for I'm reaching out to you. I don't know you, but I'm connecting with you. Are you doing okay?

I saw the angels in wise, wonderful people who are good at their work and know what to do. Who studied hard to arrive at their stations in life. What I know about commas [When in doubt, leave it out] and sentence structure and cookbooks and clothes, they know about making things better. They know hard stuff, strong stuff, life stuff. I felt the angels' wings, too, every time my phone vibrated in the front pocket of my blue jeans.

I saw them in hope, in trust, in faith, in a turn for the better. I saw them in something I surely did not expect to see, and am so grateful I did.

I thank you for sending the angelgrams. It would not hurt if you continued to send them our way. You are gracious and kind.

Good night.

This is always such a great thing when it happens. I am so glad that the angels came through. Your faithful readers will continue to send many angelgrams, I'm sure. Hang in there. Love, Linda
