I've decided to start putting a TCOY footnote on the bottom of each of my daily blog posts, to remind myself of the things I'm doing right each day on the road to good health and personal peace. I've realized that if I think about these things as something I will be reporting later, I might try harder.
I'm partly inspired by my friend and fellow writer, Kim. Here is her blog: http://blogsgotnotitle.blogspot.com. Kim not only writes wonderful posts but also links us [if we want to go] to her food diary, her efforts to stay healthy and fit. I so admire her oatmeal and salads and soups and fruits and walks and yoga classes. [Yay, Kim!]
Good night.
TCOY
- Boot camp.
- Cradled, with longing, big tubs of chocolate-chunk cookies at grocery store but put them down and chose 3 thin Florentine Lace cookies from bakery section [.12 lb. at $9.99/lb., so $1.20].
- Herbal tea.
- Walked Sug around block once.
- Iced coffee.

This is such a good idea, and I love the acronym. Positive reinforcement. Give yourself credit. And keeping it in your mind to write about later will probably lead to more taking care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteHi Nan....thank you....the one thing is, i do not plan to write down the Don't TCOY ones [like sleeve of Girl Scout cookies], but I hope it will tip the scales in favor of the positive steps. i hope all is well with you and your family in DC. :) alice
ReplyDeleteGo, Alice, go! and thanks for the shout-out. Not too inspiring this past week, but I'm turning the ship around. Again.
