I can't tell you how many times we've been on the Mernins' deck over the years, ever since their Ryan and Emmy and Nikki and our Figgy were little, little. We went there for dinner on the deck tonight.
They've grilled for us--I always remember Michael offering a selection of cheeses for cheeseburgers! Barbara and John and Liam have joined us. We've had potato salad, baked beans, big green salads. Tonight, spaghetti and sauce, wine and beer. The Mernins are kind enough to let us bring Sug, even though she sometimes tries to antagonize cats, and they have two cute ones. Their big dog, Kelly, takes Sug under her wing.
Do you want to go to the Mernins and see Kelly? I say and Sug races around, unable to control herself.
One simple pleasure of summer.
