Hello from Darien Public Library

I sense lots of new shopping and coffee-ing and flowering potential in the area Sis and Don are moving to. Stamford isn't far from New Canaan, and I look forward to exploring that tony town. When we were kids, we went there for memorable summer parties at Pat and Bob's...

Right now we're in Darien, b/c Sis had to bring her car into the dealer for an airbag check. The public library is right across the street. Modern and very nice--I'm in the tech lab, with all the free computers. It does make me wonder, with all the money in Montclair, why our library is not a teeny bit sleeker [with a big bank of computers, for instance].

But I do have to say that the cafe at the Montclair Library--Terra at the Isabel Rose, a fair-trade tearoom and market run by Grace--is an asset just right for our town....organic chocolate, earthy foods, excellent coffee.....the cafe here, not so much. Unless you're a kid--into cupcakes, ice cream and big M & M cookies....

So take that, Darien.

Time to go. Car ready. Sis very punctual.
