JetBlue Going My Way

So....Sis and her husband, Don, are winging to Fort Lauderdale March 20 to 25, to escape this icy winter. They had rewards points to cover airfare.

Perhaps because when they were here for a Saturday dinner recently I confided to Sis that I felt like I wanted to run away--or perhaps just because she is thoughtful and warm--she invited me to join them. They have a club-level Sheraton suite, with sleeping space for moi.

I told her I'd check with H. and thought he'd balk, but he didn't. I will be away five nights. I'm looking forward. This has been an ice-cold winter. Craving a bit of tan, reading, resting, beaching and seeing new places. I'm flying JetBlue, which I've long been curious about.

And: This morning I rose at 4:10 a.m. to drive Figgy to Newark Airport, for her 6:15 flight to Florida to visit H.'s cousin and her husband. She used her babysitting money [her job is to watch a nice young boy about 4 afternoons a week]. I was proud to see her off, her first solo flight. Punch was sad/mad she couldn't go the airport with us and burst into tears when she woke up. I texted Fig, who called after school to do face time with her. They call each other Bobo [pronounced like hair bow--bow-bow]. It was cute.

You don't understand, Fig told me recently, I'm like a flower. I need to be in the heat. Or something like that. Good will and godspeed, my Figgy. Enjoy the sea and the warmth.
