Before I Forget: 28 Cape Cod Stops

On the 300-mile drive back from the Cape on Sunday, I asked my friend Anne--in the driver's seat of her gray minivan--to humor me with a game. [The girls were busy in the backseat listening to music or playing Crossy Road.] We two took turns going back and forth, listing all of the places we went to on our four days/three nights on the Cape. I think we got to 30. This is not the order we listed them, but here goes:
  1. Nauset Light Beach
  2. Great Pond
  3. Eastham Superette
  4. The attached liquor store for a bottle of white wine [Anne]
  5. Audubon/Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
  6. Lieutenant Island [Punch, Nik and me, for volunteer turtle nest cleanup]
  7. The Hot Chocolate Sparrow
  8. Saint Joan of Arc Thrift Shop in Orleans
  9. The thrift shop over on the other side of town [it benefits a hospital, I believe]
  10. Chatham Bars Beach
  11. In the Pink Lilly Pulitzer store in Chatham
  12. The Candy Manor, Chatham
  13. Island Pursuit, Chatham
  14. The swing space for the Eastham Public Library until the new building is done
  15. The Rail Trail/bike path!!!!!!!
  16. Idle Times bike shop [Anne, Punch and Nik]
  17. Mac's seafood market on Route 6 [small outpost of wildly popular Mac's in Wellfleet]
  18. Rock Harbor Grill
  19. The Wicked Oyster for breakfast in Wellfleet!!!!!!
  20. Uncle Tim's Bridge!
  21. Double Dragon, a Chinese restaurant; there's a first time for everything...Chinese food on the Cape
  22. A drive we took down by the estates on the water in Chatham....saw private tennis courts, gorgeous homes, landscaped lawns and enviable locations
  23. General store in Eastham
  24. Hole in One Donuts [Anne and Nikki]
  25. The convenience store on Route 6 in Eastham [I think Cumberland Farms?] where Anne always buys lottery tickets once during every trip to the Cape
  26. Wonderstrand Way neighborhood, biking and walking Sug
  27. The Blue Dolphin Inn, Eastham
  28. Next-door neighbor's house; she is making organic sugar scrubs now, and I bought a jar of the Pleasant Bay Peppermint one. They're sold in nice stores up there or visit beachymoms.org. I love that Bridget is making them!
And I can't remember the other 2! I think one was a consignment store Anne visited while the girls and I were turtle nesting.
Thanks for being there! I wanted to jot down all we did, all we love. :) xo
