Full day....and the last night the good Mannings are our next-door neighbors [after 17 years]. We had a little ice cream party for the kids and Sally made a pitcher of margaritas for the rest of us. The kids playing from dusk into moonlight included Will and Mad [who are moving], Meg, Philip, Sophie, Rowan, Ella, Noah, Giovanni, Nicolette, Aidan, Angelo, Marcelo--and Punchy. They were playing tag and maybe truth or dare.
W., 13, and M, 12, have been an integral part of this neighborhood since birth. We will miss their energy, their goodwill and their voices calling through the trees.
