Have been working hard. H. away on Washington Island, off Wisconsin, for his annual getaway with his Beloit College buddies, two of whom have family homes there.

1. Went to vegan Positivitea in Verona with Fig and Punch. Excellent Mexicali burger and kale slaw gave me energy to meet my deadline tonight.
2. Avoided sweet treats. Had a panini with a lot of veggies for lunch and iced coffee, no bells and whistles. Also: homemade pickles.
