H., Punch and I drove into this hipster pocket of Brooklyn to visit Figgy at work at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream on Wythe Avenue. [We started liking the brand years ago, for its pints of decadent vegan ice cream sold at Whole Foods. The ice cream shop even has vegan whipped cream!] Fig normally takes two subways to get there, but after a vegan supper at Bliss, we drove her back to Manhattan.
Good night to you. This was my second and final planned sweet day for October, so Halloween will be a challenge. Good night.
Camera roll:
Figgy & Punchy in the ice cream shop.
The New Yorker Sundae, with espresso ice cream.
Fierce sister hugs.
Figgy and coworker Mimi, who hails from
Seattle.
Below: Got a soft & chewy old-time cookie from Schmackary's on Bedford Avenue. The Old-fashioned Schmackerdoodle was $2.75 and tasted like a butter and cinnamon gift from Mom's kitchen.
